On May 30, my country's new energy sector ushered in an important milestone, and the first large-scale photovoltaic demonstration base in the "Shagohuang" climate zone was officially put into use.
It is reported that the demonstration base is located in Otog Front Banner, Ordos City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. It is built on the basis of the largest single coal mining subsidence photovoltaic base in my country-the 3 million kilowatt blue sea photovoltaic power station of the State Energy Group in Mengxi, with a total capacity of 133 megawatts. After the project is fully launched, it can deliver 2.2 billion kilowatt-hours of clean electricity per year, meet the electricity needs of more than 700,000 households, reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 1.91 million tons per year, and the ecological benefit is equivalent to planting 5,600 hectares of trees.
Its core advantage lies in the "evidence" function: by dividing the advanced technology demonstration area and the conventional demonstration test area, 10 mainstream photovoltaic brackets and 36 types of photovoltaic panels are subjected to more than 150 combination experiments, systematically verifying the performance of photovoltaic equipment throughout its life cycle, and providing a data foundation for the large-scale development of photovoltaics in the "Shagohuang" area.
This photovoltaic demonstration base standing on the "Shagohuang" is not only a test field for my country's new energy technology innovation, but also a vivid example of ecological governance and sustainable development. With the promotion and application of its experience, the "Shagohuang" area is transforming from a "forbidden zone" for energy development to a "fertile ground" for green development, contributing Chinese wisdom and strength to the global response to climate change and the promotion of energy transformation.
